ENTRY DATE & TIME:      Monday, August 12, 2013:  5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday, August 13, 2013:  7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. 
 
ENTRY LOCATION:      Round Building, Arkansas Valley Fairgrounds 
 
ENTRY FEES:            $1.00 per item 
 
EXHIBIT MONITOR:      If you are interested in helping to watch the exhibit hall during the fair, please  contact a superintendent or let her know when entering your projects. 
 
 
RULES AND REGULATIONS:  Carefully READ all rules BEFORE completing the entry form. 
 
     Exhibitors are required to complete their own entry blanks previous to entry time.  Closing date of entries will be Tuesday, August 13, 2013, 9:30 a.m. All items entered must be in place before that time. 
     All articles must be accompanied by a completed official entry blank.  
     All articles must have been made by the person entering the same, and the workmanship of all articles must have been completed within the last year. Items may not have been entered in the Arkansas Valley Fair in previous years.   
     No one exhibitor will be allowed to enter more than one item in each class.   
     Competition is open to all persons, male or female. 
     Professionals may exhibit. A professional is defined as: 
§      Someone who has taught a class for a fee in the area of their entry.  This does not include demonstrations. 
§      Someone who has a degree in the area of their entry. 
§      Someone who has received personal income from the sale of work in the area of their entry. 
§      Someone who is a qualified judge for work in the area of their entry. 
     In judging, the general appearance, suitability to purpose, beauty, style, color, design, cleanliness and material used in the article will be considered as well as the finish and workmanship of the article.   
     In those classes in which no competition exists or, if in the opinion of the judges, an article exhibited is not worthy of a first award, the judge may award second, third, or no award.  A champion of each department will be awarded in the needlework division, quilt division, and professional division if, in the opinion of the judges, an article is worthy.  
     All articles must be a finished piece and any article soiled or defaced by wear is not eligible for exhibit or judging. 
     If there are enough similar items entered in any miscellaneous category to make a class, they will be judged separately.  Decision is up to superin tendents and judges.  
     Because of limitation of space, we can guarantee only award winning entries display space. 
 
     CREATE YOUR OWN PATTERNS - It has to be an original design or instruction.  It will be judged higher on originality and creativeness. 
 
JUDGING & AWARDS: 
 
     Judging will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2013.  Judging is closed. 
 
     Prize money in the amount of $25.00 will be awarded to the Grand Champion of each Division (Needlework, Quilt and Professional Divisions).  Prize money in the amount of $15.00 will be awarded to the Reserve Grand Champion of each Division. Prize money in the amount of $5.00 will be awarded to the Champion and Reserve Champion of each Department.  All Needlework, Scrapbooks, Quilts and Professional entries will be combined for one People’s Choice award and the winner will receive $50.00 and a rosette.    
 
     The public will vote for the entry of their choice for the “People’s Choice Award” from the opening of the Round Building Wednesday afternoon until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 17th.

The Round House will be open to the public to view the exhibits as follows: 
 
     Wednesday, August 14            1:00 p.m. — 10:00 p.m.

     Friday, August 16                  l:00 p.m. — 10:00 p.m. 
     Saturday, August 17            9:00 a.m. — 10:00 p.m. 
 
 
CHECK OUT TIME -   Sunday, August 18, 2013              1:00 p.m. — 3:00 p.m. — no exceptions 
 
     All care possible will be used to insure the safety of the entries.  However, under no circumstances will the Arkansas Valley Fair or superintendents be responsible for items not picked up by 3:00 p.m.  They will be left unattended in exhibit building. 
 
 
 
In order to have entries judged and on display for the public to enjoy, entry days and times have been changed.  This will allow time for judging and placing items on display prior to opening day of the fair.
